NIHR: Participation in health research linked to better healthcare

A recent National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) review has found positive evidence to suggest that engaging clinicians and healthcare organisations in research is linked to improved performance.

33 papers were included in the review, of which 28 identified improvements in health services performance in either quality of care or patient outcome. In these, patients were found more likely to get better standards of care at hospitals undertaking research.
